DPN Group hosts Women Veteran's Business Conference 2016
Over 90 participants gathered for the 3rd Annual Maryland Military and Veteran Women Business Conference on Thursday, June 16th at Morgan State University. This year's them was, "Connecting Business with Opportunities". Andrea Garris Jackson, DPN Group's Principal, is the co-founder of this conference. The goal of the conference is to provide information and resources to active duty military personnel, transitioning soldiers, military spouses and veterans in order to grow their business successfully.
The keynote speaker, R. Michael Gill, Secretary, Maryland Department of Commerce, addressed the crowd. In addition, the conference feature panel discussions, subject matter expert roundtables, workshops and an awards ceremony for the "Roll Call" awards that recognizes veterans making exceptional contributions to their community and organizations supporting veterans and small business. DPN Group develops the Women's Contractor College @ EBDI
DPN Group held the second co-hort of the Women's Contractor College @ EBDI . The college was developed by DPN to address the issue of women business enterprises access to construction contracting opportunities, . The program kicked off on Thursday, February 11th with 250 participants and a waiting list. The college partners are: EBDI, Forest City-New East Partnership, Clark Construction, Bayview Enterprises, Hensel Phelps, RAM Contracting Services LLC, Lawrence Law LLC and DPN Group.
The 8-week capacity building program is designed to help local, minority, and women-owned businesses compete in the highly competitive construction industry. Experts will instruct participants on the latest practices in the construction to improve business operations and success in bidding on contracts. Financial and Bonding resources will be available to participants. Twenty-two firms completed the entire series and received a certificate.
The program concluded on Thursday, March 31st with Daryl McKissack, CEO & President of McKissack and McKissack, as the keynote speaker for the closing program. The program has produced contract opportunities for 5 WBE firms and saw 4 additional firms receive bonding.

Leadercast 2015 drew a diverse group of individuals that learned leadership principles from some of the 21st Century heros. The speakers, dubbed as The Brave Ones, shared principles of leadership that included taking risks, being different and going above the expectations of others to make a difference int the world. The event broadcasted LIVE from Atlanta, Ga. to hundreds of sites around the world, including Towson. This year’s event was hosted by Bill and Guiliana Rancic. The speaker lineup included:
